With the 2011 Bridal Season around the corner, myself and other Bridal retailers are obsessed with the latest trends and silhouettes in wedding gowns.
After pouring over Todays Bride, Weddingbells,The Knot, and meeting with a half dozen of the industries leading reps (and most importantly listening to all my brides) this is what I'm predicting for 2011. It will be a year of contradictions - softer fabrics, less embellishment, more fit and more flare.

In fabrics we'll continue to move towards charmeuse satins and away from taffetta - my clients are showing an increased interest in organza overlays and ruffled skirts. Less embellishment and beading and a greater focus on fit.
Pick-up skirts will still be present but the taffetta whipped cream look of past seasons will be replaced with soft asymmetric draping and ruffling. |
