THE PROPER TOPPER was first opened in 1986 on Upper James St. on Hamilton mountain as a millinery studio, creating special occasion hats, custom designed to coordinate with the outfits of clients attending weddings and such.

In January 2001 we moved to our current unique shop at 99 ARGYLE ST NORTH in CALEDONIA. Just 15 minutes outside of Hamilton, our new location offers a beautiful relaxing location where customers love our bright sun-filled showrooms.
